How to become a Captain in Training (CIT) or Captain?

Our Leadership Tiers

CAPTAIN IN TRAINING (CIT):

Beginning in 7th grade. Previous Shakespearience training is best, but flexible. 


Duties and info:

  • Assisting through leading warm up improv games and working with younger students, supervised by directors.  

  • Continue acting and combat training for performance, from a more advanced perspective. Qualified CITs work with steel stage combat swords. 

  • Commitment to at least two (more are highly encouraged) workshops or summer camps per year is required.

  • Shakespearience fees for CITs are at a reduced rate for workshops and camps.

CAPTAIN:

Beginning in 9th grade. Previous Shakespearience training is required.

Duties and info: 

  • Assisting through leading warm up and closing improv games and helping train younger students, supervised by directors. 

  • Advanced acting and/or stage combat with steel stage combat swords. Commitment to at least two (more are highly encouraged) workshops or summer camps per year is required.

  • Shakespearience fees for Captains are at a reduced rate for workshops and camps.

  • There may be opportunities for summer camp/stipend contracts, in which case there is no fee for the Captain.
