Liability Waiver Addendum ~ Behavioral & Safety Clause
Shakespearience Participation Agreement – Safety & Behavior Acknowledgment, to be acknowledged prior to registration for workshops and summer camps, both through the Shakespearience website and Mill Valley Recreation.
As a condition of participation in programming offered with Shakespearience, all guardians must acknowledge and agree to the following:
• I understand that Shakespearience is a group-based educational and performance program conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, and that safety is a shared responsibility.
• I understand that Shakespearience’s goal is to provide, not merely instruction in specific activities (e.g., stage combat including staged swordplay) but to advance the growth of each participant’s understanding of the dramatic process.
• I understand that every participant must be willing and able to follow instructions and be a constructive member of the group. While every effort is made to provide reasonable accommodations, the workshop cannot guarantee individualized supervision or care beyond what is practicable given its standard of staff ratios and policies.
• I understand that all participants are required to have the ability to engage independently, and receive express and enthusiastic direct instruction and redirection to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
• I agree to disclose any diagnoses, behavioral needs, or support plans relevant to my child’s participation promptly, so the workshop may assess fit and prepare appropriately.
• I agree that the workshop retains the right to remove any participant (temporarily or permanently) who displays behaviors that present a significant risk to their own safety, or to the safety or well-being of others or that otherwise are determined, in the discretion of the director, to be incompatible with providing a superior experience for the group.
• I understand that if such a removal occurs, I am not entitled to a prorated or full refund, although the workshop will consider requests, depending on the circumstances.

By checking the acknowledgment box at the time of registration, I acknowledge and accept these terms as part of my child’s participation in Shakespearience.
